防災講演会の実施（@霞ケ関西中学校）

読者の皆さんこんにちは！大木研究室の日向と川崎です。
12月5日は、大木准教授と学生が霞ケ関西中学校で3年生を対象に防災講演会を行いました。
この講演は、3年生が防災小説を執筆するための導入として位置付けられており、地震に関する知識や実際にあった事例を学んだ上で、地震を自分の日常生活の文脈に落とし込んで考えてもらうことを目的としています。
ここでは詳細は述べませんが、防災小説とは、近い未来のある時点で大きな地震が発生するという想定で、生徒一人一人が発災時の周囲の様子やその時の自分の気持ちなどについて自由に綴るというものです。
防災小説の執筆にあたって、大木准教授が川越市の被害想定（首都直下地震に見舞われた場合）を説明しました。自分たちの町でどのようなことが起きるのか、具体的な数値や写真などを使って伝えていきます。
その後、東北地方のある小学校での事例を川崎が紹介しました。
実際に行われた数年間に及ぶ学校内での議論、そして東日本大震災。津波が迫る中で人々はいかに判断し行動をとったのか、現地の写真・動画を交えてお話ししました。
この後3年生の皆さんにはグループワークをしてもらいました。
「自分たちの住む地域をどうしたいか」など、小説執筆に向けて考えを膨らませる、大変濃密な時間となりました。
1月には、学年全体で防災小説の発表会が行われる予定です。
